Sukkos Parade Bogs Down Downtown Yerushalayim

The annual Sukkos Parade in Jerusalem on the first day Chol Hamoed [second day yomtov outside of Israel] is taking place on Wednesday afternoon resulting in major traffic snarls throughout the downtown area leading to and from Sacher Park. Traffic around the central bus station, Binyanei Ha’uma, Geula, Machane Yehuda and many other areas is being rerouted and major delays are resulting.

Public transportation is halted in many areas as a result of the parade marking 60 years since the establishment of Israel, with an emphasis on sports. Participants include local and foreign residents. The culmination of the event will take place in Sacher Park.
