🚨 MILLION-MAN ATZERES THIS THURSDAY? Chareidi Leaders Meet In Bnei Brak To Discuiss Logistics

The Chareidi public is awaiting confirmation amid growing concern over the recent yeshiva student arrests and the looming threat of a draft decree against the Torah world. Despite attempts to delay or cancel the gathering, this time it appears that plans are moving forward — though details could still change.

The organizing committee, composed of representatives from Shas, Agudas Yisroel, and Degel HaTorah, met this morning at Bnei Brak City Hall in a rare show of unity. According to reports, the massive atzeres is tentatively set to take place Thursday afternoon at the entrance to Yerushalayim — the same location as the historic 2014 gathering. However, the organizers still face logistical and financial challenges, including coordination with police and local authorities.

The initiative follows the arrest of Ariel Shamai, a bochur from Yeshivas Ateres Shlomo, whose detention has sparked widespread outrage across the Chareidi community. For the first time, even Degel HaTorah joined the protests.

HaRav Sholom Ber Sorotzkin, Rosh Yeshivas Ateres Shlomo, has been working to unite all segments of the Torah world around the issue. This morning, he participated in a rare full-session meeting of the Eida HaChareidis Beis Din in Yerushalayim, led by HaGaon HaRav Moshe Sternbuch, to discuss next steps in response to the ongoing arrests of yeshiva students.

Meanwhile, thousands of children from the Ateres Shlomo Talmudei Torah network are expected to gather Monday outside Prison 10 to protest the arrest — following the directive of HaGaon HaRav Moshe Hillel Hirsch.

  1. The LGBT pro-abortion idiots get to shut down the streets whatever they want, it’s time to close the country down for the Torah. These anti-religious pigs are not going to be the end of us we’ve survived worse

  2. The charedim have over many years positioned themselves as a super class thinking they are better than everyone else. These protests are all about control and money, nothing else. There are many tracks in the army which are designed to allow soldiers to maintain a charedi life style. As Moshe Rabbeinu said in chumash Devarim, one group of Jews are not allowed to sit by and let the others fight for Eretz Yisrael. Everyone had to participate.

  4. Is it appropriate to ask, especially if this is being raised with the Gedolim, how this will be effective or even perceived — given that I don’t recall a similar public gathering or initiative of tefilah for the hostages while they were suffering in Gaza, or for the tens of thousands of soldiers who risked their lives fighting there, with so many paying the ultimate price?

  5. The pro Arab-racism / pro Islamic-bigotry Haaretz [Haaretzism] is the typical hypocrisy, after and amidst its blood libels on IDF – fighting human-shields users “palestine” regimes (which Haaretz’s neo Nazi fans are so happy to add to…), it complains against conscientious objectors ultra-orthodox Jews Haredim rejecting IDF conscription.

  6. And here we go again we have intelligent torah scholar ywn commenters that think they know the situation better than Rav Ovadia, rav shternbuch, rav Hirsch, rav Lando, rav zilberstein, rav Segal, it’s amazing how much Torah the commenters here have learned that they are able to dismiss the words of the Holy rabbis that the Army is a spiritual danger for so many, not to mention the Stories leaked out every day of the forced spiritual hazards and secular culture going on in the IDF to hurt the religious soldiers. We don’t take chances on Souls. A place that has such a high risk of becoming secular is forbidden to enter

  7. I don’t understand. Is this about making a powerful tefillah to appeal to Hashem, or about hishtadlus to make a political point to Israelis? If it’s about making a powerful tefillah, why didn’t they do it to prevent a thousands Jews being killed in the war and tens of thousands more being injured? And if it’s about hishtadlus to make a political point, then what happened to their belief that Torah protects and hishtadlus is unnecessary because everything is decided by Hashem?

  8. 1) they are following all the chief rabbis directive 2) the state is pretty much asking for shmad and times like that call for public Proclamation and defense of the Torah. 3) to show the state that they’re not backing down and to make life difficult enough that they will Retreat and stop arresting Torah students because they will not want to deal with this constantly. 4) the ones who make noise tend to get their way as you see with the left

  9. nbednarsh:
The truth is that, after the hell that the wicked Zionists put them through starting over a century ago when the Zionists invaded against the will of the chareidim there, the chareidim are indeed a protected class, also as per the agreement between Agudah and the first Zionist leader.

As well, Rav Steinman and all the gedolim said that it’s forbidden for a Jew to be conscripted into the Zionist army of shmad. It is expressly designed, and indeed it’s overriding and main purpose is shmad, to convert Jew into Zionist, regardless of framework.

Moshe Rabbeinu was a navi addressing the tribes who wanted to settle on the East Bank of the Jordan River, regarding the prophecy and direct divine command to cross the Jordan and conquer that land. According to all Torah opinions (including the Ramban), that does not apply today, even if there are some opinions that do hold it to be a mitzva if one does live in E”Y. So, Moshe Rabbeinu’s command is entirely irrelevant to the Zionist army, and that’s even if it were not an army of shmad.

  10. Nosson Nota:
Hishtadlus means doing that which Hashem wants us to do while He delivers the actual results. This, then, would be right in that category of hishtadlus, of course.

  11. Lover of Zion:
No, it is not appropriate, because there were constant prayers worldwide for the hostages (and the soldiers, too). Here, the wicked Zionists are attempting to destroy the Torah world that is under their control and have already harmed many of the Jews under their control in that attempt which is ongoing and more forceful and consequential than ever before.

  12. A Jewish state that houses and feeds terrorists in prison and grants Arabs full citizenship and benefits while granting the military exemption, and then turns around and screams at religious people for not contributing when it was them who granted the exemption for 80 years and then dropped it in one night. You expect Society to just change in one day? Within months of dropping the exemption they sanctioned and criminalized all of them without any grace period or even chance for some type of agreement to be worked out. Arresting Yeshiva Boys while Arabs laugh at the airport. That’s the Jewish state

  13. pathetic embarssament. you live her you contribute. dont just take!
its very simple, you dont want to serve – DONT but dont get money for kids, schools, kollel etc..
the army has bent over backwards to accomodate torah lifestyle – chashmonim unit has more learning than most yeshiva boys!!
now is not the time for this stupidity!

  14. ^ apikores gamur. Rav shternbuch and all the gedolei yisrael disagree and you dare disrespect them publicly and contradict? What an ending you will have

  15. RamatShilo:
Zionism, including “Religious Zionism” is a pathetic embarrassment. No one asked the Zionists to invade. In fact, those same chareidim begged them to leave and stop making trouble, but the Zionists didn’t and don’t care.

  16. Hakatan – actually, several Gedolim begged the Zionists to help them escape the Nazis in Europe. And had it not been for the Zionists, there would have been nowhere for the Jews who survived the Holocaust to go.
