The IDF reports that the Red Cross has informed the military that it has retrieved a casket — believed to contain the body of a slain Israeli hostage — from Hamas in northern Gaza.

According to the IDF, the Red Cross is currently transporting the casket to Israeli forces inside the Gaza Strip. Upon arrival, the military will hold a brief ceremony led by an IDF rabbi before the body is transferred for formal identification.

Prime Minister’s Office announced on Wednesday morning that the remains Hamas transferred to Israel yesterday (on Tuesday) did not belong to either of the two slain hostages still held in Gaza.

The bodies of two hostages, Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, H’yd, and Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak, are still in Gaza, in blatant violation of the ceasefire stipulations.
