Situational assessment. IDF spokesperson

Following the murderous attack in northern Israel on Friday, the IDF launched an extensive counterterrorism operation in the terrorist’s hometown of Qabatiya, near Jenin and imposed a full lockdown of the area and a curfew.

As of Motzei Shabbos, the operation is ongoing, with the town still in lockdown.

IDF forces interrogated dozens of terror suspects, arrested five suspects, and set up roadblocks throughout the Jenin region.

Menashe Brigade forces raided the terrorist’s home and began sealing the home in preparation for its demolition.

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said the IDF is “operating with force against terror centers in the village of Qabatiya, from which the murderous terrorist who carried out Friday’s attack emerged, alongside a complete closure and lockdown of the town.”

“We will continue to pursue an uncompromising offensive policy against Palestinian terrorism in the terror strongholds of northern Shomron and throughout Yehudah and Shomron,” Katz added.
