New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is visiting in Ashkelon, defended Israel’s military response, explaining any sovereign nation attacked by enemy rocket fire would be compelled to do the same.

“If I was the State of Israel, I would be compelled to do the same,” stated the visiting dignitary.
