Angered at recent statements from Defense Minister Ehud Barak, signaling a ceasefire with Hamas is near, Minister of Pensioner Affairs Rafi Eitam on Wednesday informed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that he may be compelled to resign from the Political-Security Cabinet in response.

Eitam, and others, have expressed anger of some of Barak�s recent statements, explaining his remarks may be encouraging Hamas to continue, working against IDF soldiers and the operation, adding this is not the time to release statements of a ceasefire while the objectives of the operation have not been achieved.
