While leading Hamas terrorists convene in Cairo to decide if they will move ahead with a ceasefire deal with Israel, terrorists in Gaza on Friday evening fired a Katyusha rocket into Gan Yavne. While the media reports a deal is imminent, the rocket attacks into southern Israel have once again become an almost daily occurrence.
Residents of Gan Yavne on Friday night reported hearing explosions that mimicked a rocket attack, but sirens in the city did not sound. On Shabbos morning, bomb-demolition technicians located the remnants of the rocket in open fields, with IDF Homefront Command officials confirming the sirens did not sound due to technical malfunction.
Army officials added that even during the war, the sirens did not sound from time-to-time, assuring all southern residents that the early warning system is operational.
