British Aid Convoy to Gaza Attacked in Egypt

The Viva Palestina convoy, led by George Galloway, a British member of parliament, was attacked on Sunday in el-Arish, Egypt. According to members of the humanitarian delegation, the area power was interrupted and suddenly, they were attacked with rocks, al-Jazeera reports. Anti-Hamas graffiti was also noticed when the electric power was restored.

A number of members of the delegation were injured. Adding to the convoy’s difficulties is an Egyptian position to only permit medical aid via the Rafiach Crossing, despite the fact the group is carrying other forms of assistance, which Egyptian officials on Monday stated they will not permit into Gaza via the crossing.

Al-Jazeera adds that 10 Libyan trucks carrying medical supplies crossed into Gaza via Rafiach on Sunday.
