Extremely confident the Labor central committee on Tuesday will give the green light to enter into coalition negotiations with Likud, Labor leader Ehud Barak on Sunday afternoon appointed a negotiating team which includes Histadrut chairman Ofir Eini, Minister Shalom Simchon, and attorney Alon Gilrat. The team is expected to meet on Sunday as they seek for to formulate their wish list before formally entering into talks with Likud negotiators, a move that cannot precede approval from the party’s governing board on Tuesday.
Barak on Sunday morning stressed that regardless of the decision on Tuesday, he will remain with Labor, dispelling rumors that he may break away from Labor if not granted permission to enter the coalition.
