Rafi Eitan, who served in the previous administration as minister of pensioner affairs, will be serving as an advisor to the current administration, addressing the same issues.
While he is acting in the capacity of an advisor, not a minister, he will maintain his same office, four staff members, vehicle and driver. The prime minister could not appoint him to a cabinet post to the advisor status was accepted as a viable alternative.
Eitan will continue to oversee the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs which Netanyahu is not shutting. Dr. Leah Ness is serving as a deputy minister in the office.
