The state commission responsible for probing the government eviction of the Jewish community of Gaza and the northern Shomron will hold its first meeting today, Sunday.
The committee was established by High Court of Justice President Dorit Beinish, acting on the decision of the Knesset State Control Committee in the former administration.
The committee will meet in Jerusalem’s Reich Hotel, beginning its probe which is based on State Comptroller’s Micha Lindenstrauss’ report that cited many failures in the government’s handling the evictees, stating the Sela Eviction Administration did not address their needs for housing, employment and other basic responsibilities, which has been the allegation of the victims since they were uprooted from their homes in 2005.
