At the behest of Minister of Religious Services (Shas) Yaakov Margi, his party has lobbied for and successfully brought about a ministerial committee to address burial in Eretz Yisrael. The committee will address the critical shortage of burial plots nationwide, with special attention being focused on Gush Dan, where the problem is immediate.
With the approval of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the committee was ordered into being and it will focus on solving problems pertaining to kevura around the country. The committee will be headed by Margi, and working with him will be the ministers of environmental affairs, transportation, tourism, social affairs, justice and Diaspora affairs.
