Were Terrorists Planning to Disguise Themselves as Chareidim?

arrest1.jpgPolice early Monday afternoon closed Highway 1 near Latrun, the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv Highway; fearing terrorists were traveling on the roadway. Acting on intelligence information, police feared a specific vehicle was laden with explosives, leading to the closure in both directions and major traffic delays.

Five Arabs were taken into custody by police, members of an elite unit. Police found yarmulkes and tzitzis in the vehicle as well, leading to the suspicion they were planning to carry out and attack, dressed a frum Jews.

  1. YonasonW and sammygol, the point was that a bunch of Muslims were trying to dress up as chareidim to disguise themselves to better do their attack, chas v’shalom. Just look at the story approximately eight years ago right after 9/11. A bunch of Arabs walked into G&W and asked to buy chasidishe clothing! Boruch Hashem the Yiddishe proprietor caught on to their game and stopped them.

  2. 4) is very possible as the agitators are often a combination of shababnikim and shtinkers paid by the police to stir up trouble.

I even wonder whether this Krauss character is not on the payroll judging by the way he speaks Ivrit and his completely nonsensical interview which sounds like a parody of himself.

  3. Reading some of the talkbacks I often feel that this website has been “taken over” by the “anti-zionist, anti-everything-except themselves” extreme element of Orthodoxy

  4. # 10–Sammygol posted that “As such, “extreme……Orthodoxy” is an oxymoron. ”

perhaps, but in Israel, it’s pretty much an everyday part of life.
