America Continues to Threaten – Tehran Remains Insolent

iran2.jpgThe United States is desperately seeking a compromise solution that will be accepted by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to enable putting the Iran crisis aside, but as is the Islamic fundamentalist way, there will be no compromise and Tehran is simply unwilling to play the game, not event for show.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki announced his country rejects the latest United Nations plea for compromise, to have Tehran export enriched uranium to a third country for storage. The UN hoped Iran would agree; sending 70% of its low grade enriched uranium out of the country, a move that would permit the international community to rest comfortably, aware Iran would be unable to build a nuclear bomb.

Iran could have played the game, gone along with the request and still accomplished its goal, but Ahmadinejad is simply uninterested in playing the game, and appears genuinely interested in defying the Western nations and their demands.

Pathetically, US State Department spokesman Ian Kelly stated the statements from the foreign minister do not “inspire confidence”, uncertain just how to proceed. America has announced it awaits Iran formal response, still hopeful something may change they will let the White House off the hook, permitting the administration to ignore increasingly audible Israeli intelligence warnings that the point of no return is rapidly approaching regarding Iranian nuclear independence.

Kelly indicated the United States will now confer with her allies to assess the next step and possibly increased sanctions against Iran.
