Addressing recent acts of defiance by members of the Shimshon and Nachshon Battalions of the Kfar Brigade, Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced that “if the nation has a will to live, we must respond to acts of insubordination with an iron fist”.

The minister is planning to meet with senior IDF commanders in the coming day to define policy and response to acts of insubordination “from the left and right”.

In the meantime, despite the minister’s zero tolerance policy, another sign objecting to removing Jews from their homes was found in the Kfir Base in the Jordan Valley last week. The soldiers involved in the two earlier acts were all sentenced to jail terms for their actions.
