Area residents believe it was a miracle, that a major blaze which erupted on motzei shabbos near Moshav Tal-El stopped near the community shul despite causing significant damage to the area. The fire apparently began in a grocery store located near the shul. The store and the surrounding area were totally destroyed, gutted from the blaze.

The shul did not escape the blaze, located adjacent to the shul, and damage to the ezras nashim was particularly heavy but the blaze stopped near the sifrei kodesh and firefighters succeeded in bringing the blaze under control.

Some of the mispalalim were quoted by Ladaat as explaining some mispalalim wanted to rebuild the shul but the community voted against it, explaining now the decision is an obvious one. For now, a caravan is being sought to serve as a temporary shul and to house the area’s daily shiurim.
