Wednesday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A 12-y/o Arab youth brandished a knife at a security guard in the Shomron community of Revava. He was taken into custody.

**3 Arabs were taken into custody near Shechem Wednesday after they were found to be carrying improvised hand grenades. The explosive devices were detonated in a controlled explosion.

**Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin in response to the EU call to divide Jerusalem stated the EU will not dictate to Israel which city is our capital.

**Rock-attacks against Israeli vehicles near Chawarah in Shomron. No injuries. Damage reported.

**Gaza health officials report the swine flu death has climbed to five. All the deaths have been reported in the past week.

**An Arab male found to be carrying two explosive devices was taken into custody at Kalandia Checkpoint.

**Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Moshe Shlomo Amar came out in support of Justice Minister Prof. Yaakov Neeman, who came under fire his week for supporting a state run by Torah Law. The Rav called the critics of the minister “hypocrites” for their criticism, mentioning they are the champions of democracy but when the minister mentions a Torah state, tolerance vanishes.
