A 40-year-old pregnant woman who contacted swine flu became the third pregnant women in Israel to die of the virus. She was in Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva for about a month until her condition took a sharp turn for the worse. The infant was delivered prematurely and is reported in good condition. The infant has since been released.
Medical community data reports 400 pregnant women in Israel have been diagnosed with the illness, with 15 requiring hospitalization.
