Jerusalem Expanding – City Hall Approves Har HaZeisim Housing

Baruch Hashem, the Jerusalem Planning & Building Committee has given approval for new construction, near Yeshivat Orot Yehuda, in the Har HaZeisim area near the Arab community of a-Tur. Orot Yehuda has been in the area for years, now a hesder yeshiva which was under the guidance of Rabbi Benny Elon, a former right-wing MK as well.

Twenty-four units will be constructed in four separate complexes in the first stage, as city planning officials foresee expanding as they seek to develop the area which is threatened by a growing Arab presence.

Undoubtedly the planning board approval will elicit additional condemnatory statements from the White House, US State Department and EU leaders, all viewing the area as “Israeli occupied”, refusing to recognize the fact that the Holy City belongs to the Jewish People from a Biblical perspective, and refusing to recognize that it was liberated in the Six Day War, occupied by Jordan from 1948-1967, from a military perspective, opting to play into the Arab agenda and the fictitious entity known as the Palestinians.

The Western nations have recently decried announced plans to construct new housing units in neighborhood like Gilo, on Jerusalem’s southern border, home to tens of thousands of Jerusalemites, as well as other areas, and it goes without saying that this latest announced project will elicit the ire of western leaders.
