Wednesday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A bus that caught fire resulted in serious delays on Hwy 1 heading to the capital during the Wednesday morning rush hour near Abu Gosh.

**IDF soldiers taking part in counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron apprehended 11 suspects on Tuesday night.

**Deputy Health Minister Litzman is expected to take part in the Um el-Fahm dedication of a new MDA station on Thursday.

**Civil Administration inspectors during the night destroyed cement foundations for a number of planned buildings in Yishuv Revava. Settlement Council officials decried the move under the cover of night, accusing the government of fanning the flames of dispute.

**A firebomb was hurled at a Givatayim makolet (grocery store) on Katzenelson St. during the night. Police are investigating. Damage was reported.

**Bat Yam Deputy Mayor Uri Buskila was arrested during the night on suspicion of fraud. He is being remanded on Wednesday.

**As of March 1, 2010, Dan Bus Company passengers will have to use ‘smart’ refillable bus tickets. The old paper tickets will no longer be honored.
