Rav Yehuda Yavrov, who is close to Maran Rav Elyashiv Shlita, has been appointed to head the Vaad L’maan Shabbos. The rav is also known as the ruchani auditor of Yated, ensuring the proper party line is maintained.

Rav Yavrov replaces Rav Yitzchak Goldknopf, but as Kikar Shabbos reports, the move may have been at the behest of Goldknopf, who is aware he only represents Gur while Yavrov represents a greater involvement from Rav Elyashiv and all this includes.

Other reports indicate the rav was replaced due to dissatisfaction with his operational practices.
