An avreich heading home on shabbos after davening was attacked by an at-risk youth, injuring him in his head with a knife. It appears that the avreich was heading home on Friday night when the 14-year-old juvenile attacked him, striking him in the head with a knife numerous times. The victim collapsed and the attacker fled the scene.

A number of passersby found the man injured on the ground, taking him to a local clinic for treatment. The avreich refused transport to a hospital, explaining he did not feel his condition warranted the chilul shabbos.

Police began a search for the attacker, apprehending him during the morning hours.
