An IDF soldier who took part in the Gaza flotilla operation survived what is being described as an “attempted lynch” as members of the Gaza flotilla attacked commandos with batons and knives. The soldiers were only armed with handguns, expecting to board a humanitarian vessel, not a violent hostile situation.

The soldier remains in Tel Hashomer Hospital with a serious head injury, listed in serious condition.
