QUEENS: Around 3:00 AM, Queens Shomrim volunteers on patrol in the Kew Gardens area heard multiple gunshots and immediately notified the NYPD. While canvassing the area, volunteers located a firearm that had been discarded by the suspect and quickly alerted police, directing them to its exact location. The NYPD has since recovered the weapon, and the investigation remains ongoing.
