Mossad chief David Barnea visited the United Arab Emirates at least twice during the war with Iran to coordinate military operations, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Arab sources and another person familiar with the matter.
Barnea secretly visited the Emirates on at least two separate occasions, in March and April, the sources said—a sign of increased military cooperation between the two countries.
Shortly after the WSJ report was published, Israel’s Kan News reported that Shin Bet chief David Zini also recently made an unprecedented visit to the UAE.
Zini’s visit to the Gulf state took place in recent weeks, against the backdrop of the ceasefire and tensions with Iran, and a sign of the increasing security relationship between the countries, the report said.
The WSJ report said that Israel and the UAE maintained close security coordination throughout the war.
