FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Formally Seeks Presidential Pardon From Trump After Fraud Conviction


Sam Bankman-Fried has formally asked President Trump for a pardon after being sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

•⁠ ⁠Bankman-Fried was convicted on multiple counts of fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering after prosecutors said he diverted customer funds to his hedge fund, Alameda Research.

•⁠ ⁠His pardon request was submitted to the Justice Department sometime in 2026, though the exact date has not been disclosed.
