Sen. Mitch McConnell was admitted to a hospital Sunday morning and is receiving “excellent care,” according to spokesman David Popp. No details regarding the cause of the hospitalization or McConnell’s condition were immediately released.

The 84-year-old Kentucky Republican has faced several health issues in recent years, including a concussion and broken ribs following a fall in 2023.
