U.S. Refueling Aircraft to Be Moved From Ben Gurion Airport as Military Presence Strains Operations and Travel Capacity

Approximately half of the U.S. aerial refueling aircraft currently stationed at Ben Gurion Airport are expected to be relocated to Israeli Air Force bases in an effort to reduce pressure on airport operations during the busy summer travel season, according to a Maariv report.

Airport officials say Ben Gurion is currently operating at roughly one-third of its capacity due to the presence of the aircraft and related U.S. military personnel, with some flight cancellations expected in the coming days.
