Brooklyn: Construction Workers Seriously Hurt In Crane Collapse


fdny amb.jpgA cherry picker overturned in Canarsie section of Brooklyn Monday morning, trapping a worker and injuring a second.

The equipment tipped over at a construction site at the intersection of Belt Parkway and Rockaway Parkway around 11 a.m.

The workers who were in the bucket at the time, which was extended 60 feet at the time, were sent tumbling down. One of them was trapped under the machine.

The victim was reportedly alert and communicating with first responders. He suffered ankle and rib injuries.

He was put in a neck brace and transported to the hospital.

The second worker was also taken to the hospital. He suffered an ankle injury.

None of the injuries is believed to be life threatening.
