Brooklyn, New York (March 2018)—For the fifth year running, Ohr Naava—New York’s premier women’s Torah organization—will be hosting the Brooklyn MRKT event: a buzzing retail expo featuring 81 curated vendors in one of New York’s newest and hippest venues.

Brooklyn MRKT 2018—which is marketed and produced annually by the Anelis Group—will take place on Sunday, March 4, from 12PM – 8PM and Monday, March 5 from 10AM – 5PM, at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. (Ticket-holders of packages $99 and up will enjoy exclusive early access between 10AM and 12PM on Sunday.)

Located just 20 minutes from Flatbush and 10 minutes from Boro Park, Industry City is a historic, intermodal, 40 acre waterfront complex that’s become the throbbing home for thousands of artsy creatives. Featuring hipster decor, raw industrial elements, and a powerful entrepreneurial spirit, it’s an urban hub that’s a perfect match for the MRKT, where female entrepreneurs and shoppers unite to benefit women’s empowerment.

The MRKT—which has become known for its chic vibes and palpable collaborative spirit—allows discriminating shoppers to scope out avant-garde and novel finds, with products ranging from attire and jewelry to cosmetics, millinery, accessories, wigs, children’s wear, home goods, and—of course—food. As always, a portion of the proceeds will go to sustain Ohr Naava’s essential work.

For the fifth year in a row, Junee—the popular fashion franchise run by beloved sisters June Abecasis and Jacklyn Sarig—will be sponsoring the event.

“Ohr Naava is the future of our girls, so whatever they touch, I’ll be there,” says June. “Sponsoring this event is a zechut for myself, my family, and my business. Until 120, I will cherish the opportunity.”

SARY wigs, led by founder and CEO Shaindy Braun, is another proud MRKT sponsor—from the very beginning.

“I believed in this concept from day one,” Shaindy says. “The connections that I make at the MRKT, the interactions I get to have, the contagious positive energy…I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”

This year, SARY will greet customers from the event’s biggest booth: an expansive, glass-enclosed showroom designed to give wig consumers an extraordinary experience. The brand will also be offering heavily discounted, unadvertised pricing exclusive to the event.

In another welcome development, MRKT shoppers who purchased a $250 package will enjoy VIP valet parking — thanks to FM Home Loans, a nationwide mortgage lender that has served homeowners across the country for nearly three decades.

“Building a company for over 25 years, I more than anyone can appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit at this event,” says David Brecher, CEO of FM Home Loans. “Building a successful business in today’s climate requires passion, creativity, and fierce determination. We value the indelible mark of our staff members and salute the women of the Brooklyn MRKT.”

Seth Caller, CEO of Corner Office NYC—a full-service workspace that offers executive-style, by-the-month office and meeting space rentals for new and growing businesses—is similarly proud to join the lineup of MRKT sponsors.

“The MRKT is an incubator; a place designed to help female entrepreneurs grow,” Seth says. “As owners of a business that is all about supporting entrepreneurs, it speaks to us on every level. And we’re especially happy to participate, knowing that a portion of all proceeds is going to a most worthwhile cause: Ohr Naava.”

Complementing the MRKT’s retail delights will be an array of food vendors offering mouthwatering lunches and snacks. After making their gastronomic selections, attendees will be able to dine with family and friends in a beautiful outdoor courtyard, or in the comfortable lounge areas dotting the venue.

Participants—who can purchase packages online, with an early bird discount until February 23—will get a choice of free gifts, including a dairy lunch from Brooklyn Artisan Bakehouse, refreshing drink from Fork + Bowl, Buttons & Bows ribbed beanie, Buttons & Bows keychain with charger, Driven Day Planner, Kim Kushner cookbook, or leather belted bag from Two 12 Fashion (until February 23, or while supplies last).

What’s more, all MRKT shoppers will enjoy free parking just four blocks from the venue.

“Ohr Naava has emerged as a life-changing bridge—guiding thousands of women and girls to achieve their dreams in a safe and supportive environment,” says Rabbi Zechariah Wallerstein, who founded Ohr Naava in 2003. “The proceeds from the Brooklyn MRKT will enable us to continue transforming lives—and futures.”
