Police have arrested the Israeli Arab whose hazardous driving on Yom Kippur led to the riots in Akko. Toufiq Jamal faces charges of driving at an excessive speed and endangering human life. His was ordered held over for three days.

** An Arab carrying three bombs was detected at Chawarah Checkpoint in Shomron. Implementing the protocol for apprehending a suspicious person, the suspect was shot in a leg, fled and was found in a Shechem hospital.

** After being closed for over 70 years, the Ohel Yitzchak shul in the so-called Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Yerushalayim was reopened as a result of the generosity of Dr. Irving and Cherna Moskowitz of the United States, longtime supports of efforts to reclaim Jewish property that have fallen under Arab occupation.

The ancient shul is located 80 meters from Har HaBayis and the work to make the reopening possible was carried out by the Israel Antiquities Authority.
