IDF reservists joined the battle against Hamas in Gaza. IAF fighter jets and combat choppers launched 115 sorties. The air force also targeted the home of the head of the Hamas’ military faction in addition to a Rafiach area mosque used as a weapons storage facility. At least 55 terrorists were killed.

22 rockets were fired into southern Israel and 4 Israelis were injured by shrapnel while some 40 required treatment for hysteria/shock. Since the start of Operation Cast Lead, 683 rockets were fired into Israel.
