Mir Rosh Yeshiva’s Levaya Halts Jerusalem Light Rail

It may not have been the plan of Jerusalem police, but the large number of spectators and participants in the levaya of HaGaon HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel spilled over onto the Cord’s Bridge, bringing light rail service to an abrupt halt.

While the train attempted to slowly make its way over the bridge, there were simply too many people to make it work. The tens of thousands taking part in the levaya of the Mir rosh yeshiva was the priority event and commuters were simply compelled to sit back and wait, as was the case for motorists attempting to enter and leave the city as the entrance to the city was closed to permit the levaya to cross over heading towards Har Menuchos.
