Barney Frank Is Ashamed To Be Jewish Over Israeli Commando Raid

U.S. Rep. Barney Frank had harsh words yesterday for the Israeli Navy after a bloody raid on a pro-Palestinian flotilla outside of Gaza, describing nine activists killed in the conflict as “innocent” and calling for an independent inquiry into the showdown.

Frank, in a wide-ranging interview with the Herald, went on to say that “as a Jew,” Israeli treatment of Arabs around some of the West Bank settlements “makes me ashamed that there would be Jews that would engage in that kind of victimization of a minority.”

The comments rankled some local Jewish leaders, who said activists on the largest vessel of the six-ship-flotilla sparked the deadly confrontation by attacking Israeli Naval commandos as they rappelled onto the ship.

“They weren’t innocent at all, it’s pretty clear,” said Nancy K. Kaufman, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council in Boston. “There’s something called self-defense and (Israeli officials) have a right to use it. As usual, everyone’s jumping on Israel and blaming Israel.”

Frank’s criticism comes as Israel faces a blistering worldwide backlash for its part in the early Monday morning raid, receiving only lukewarm U.S. support, in an incident that has underscored deep divides over Israeli-Palestinian issues. Israeli officials said members of the boarding party opened fire to defend themselves from a violent, armed assault, while activists said they were the ones under attack.

Frank said, “Once you have a combat situation and innocent people die, I mean, you know, look at our problems in Afghanistan, and we have an obligation to try and avoid it.” In defense of Israel, Frank added there are people “howling for Israel to pay a price that don’t seem disturbed that North Koreans killed 46 South Koreans by torpedoing a South Korean boat. I think we have a right to ask for some consistency.”

Frank called for a “genuinely impartial” inquiry, while local Jewish leaders questioned whether any international panel will be impartial toward Israel.

  1. It should come as no surprise that Barney, the self-declared mishkav zochor (see Wikipedia…), is also a self-hating Jew.

  2. I really don’t give a hoot about this self hater. For all I care let him get on a ship together with Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky, George Soros, Jon Stewart and all the Netura Karta loons and just disappear.

  3. Has anyone checked his yihus. From Wikipedia, it appears that there has been no one frum in his family (based on discussion of professions and names) since the early 20th century, at best. Given his lifestyle (treff, hilul Shabbos, etc, etc., all apparently learned from his parents – not to mention the stuff polite people don’t discuss), we might want to be “dan le-kaf zechus” and assume he’s really a goy (in other words, even if you wouldn’t sell your hametz to him, you wouldn’t want him handling your wine).

  4. Congressman Frank, it is our hope that the winds of change that swept into your state and brought in a new Republican junior senator will continue to whirl and bring more change to your state and see your ouster.

Your coming out of the closet is an embarrassment to Jews and Americans alike. We look forward to hearing your concession speech this November.

With our best interests in mind — The American Voter

  5. Being an American and a Jew, I am ashamed of Barney Frank’s Criminal/Political doings and his personal life is a shame. I am embarrassed to say that MS. Frank is from the same people as myself makes me feel embarrassed.
Barney…if you are so embarrassed of being a Jew, maybe you should be on one of those boats with your boyfriend.

  6. BARNEY…What do you expect Israel to do? Do you expect them to let all ships come in to Gaza unchecked? Are you that Stupid? Where was your Big Mouth when Rockets are being fired in to Israel. Where is that big mouth when Iran and Syria send weapons and rockets in to Lebanon? Did you speak up about that joke called UN Peacekeeping troops in Lebanon? NO, you did not speak up. You turned your back on Israel and you should be ashamed of yourself. I know where your mouth has been, but you should come up for air and do your job to protect Israel and where your family history came from.

  7. I say AMEN to #6 teffilois Let us be mispallel it should happen very soon. The torah is ashamed of a person like Barney Frank he is a disgrace to the name ‘JEW’

  8. Since he doesn’t care what the Torah says about his “alternative” lifestyle and what Yiddin think of it – why should we care what he thinks about anything. He’s not exactly a beacon of morality to say the least. Due to the nature of this interests, I can’t be more specific.

  9. I really want to call this person a name but I won’t He is
just one ganif. He said Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are secure and then they are taking billions and repeat billions to hold them together. He would sell his mother for money never mind ” his people”. He wants to be politically correct to get the arab vote this fall. Anybody who says Israel is wrong in this what just happen
does not what is really happening in the world. If these people believe Hamas is right go live there and see what
the people are going through and not from Israel’s blockage but the staging of missle attachs from schools, hospitals and masque. It is another not anti=Israel but anti Semitic deal. Barney people loss and hope we don’t have to see or worst yet hear you
