Baytana Bakery bearing the expiry date of August 31, 2011or earlier should not be purchased by kosher observant consumers even when bearing COR 548.

Please be advised that Baby Gourmet Old Fashion Apple Crisp – Stage 3 was inadvertently labeled COR without a “dairy” designation. This product is dairy.

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream and Desserts, 4041 Dempster Street, Skokie, IL is now under the cRc- cholov stam.

The cRc would like to welcome GR8 Event Catering (3149 West Devon, Chicago, IL 847-212-2510)

The newest Slurpee flavors are Fanta Mixed Berry, aka Fanta Berry Blaster and Fanta Lime Vanilla being sold as Summertime Lime are kosher and pareve. However, Icebreakers sugar free blueberry is kosher but is dairy (cholov Stam). This flavor is not being sold at the 7-Eleven on Touhy and California as that store’s slurpee machine is under the cRc and they are only permitted to sell kosher- pareve flavors at that location

Kashrut.com reports that Santa Barbara mango/peach salsa is certified as OU kosher but the OU symbol was mistakenly omitted from the packaging.

The labels on the Butter Toffee Peanuts under the Old Mill brand of Menard’s were mistakenly printed without the “dairy” designation. The product is indeed certified cRc – Dairy (Cholov Stam). 
The Garlic & Onion Snack Mix under the Old Mill brand of Menard’s bears an unauthorized cRc logo. 

The following is the latest information about Starbucks VIA instant coffee packets: The regular and decaf unflavored are certified by the KSA. The Iced Coffee is also certified by the KSA. The Flavored varieties are now certified by the OU but only with the OU on the label.

The labels on the Premium Brownie Mix and the Red Velvet Cake Mix under the Duff Goldman brand of Gartner Studios were mistakenly printed without the “dairy” designation. Both products are indeed certified cRc – Dairy (cholov stam).

Please be advised that Repacked nuts and dried fruits sold by GOLDEN FARMER’S MARKET(Howell, NJ), bears an unauthorized OK symbol on the label. This product is not certified by OK Kosher Certification.

CROISSANTS manufactured by INTERNATIONAL DELIGHTS (CLIFTON, NJ) bear an unauthorized KOF-K symbol. This company is not certified by the KOF-K. These items are being recalled from the marketplace. If seen bearing the KOF-K please email [email protected].

Kilikanoon Wines, produced in Australia, bear a symbol that is similar to the Star-K symbol. The symbol is the company’s logo. These wines are not kosher and are not certified by Star-K.

Please be advised that POPPA D’S NUTS (Orlando, FL) distributed in 7-Eleven stores bears an unauthorized OK symbol on the label. This product is not certified by the OK.

Please be advised that VALOCORDIN HERBAL SUPPLEMENT distributed by Natrel, Inc. (West New York, NJ) bears an unauthorized OK symbol on the label. This product is not certified by the OK.

Although all of the duty-free shops in Ben Gurion Airport sell their chometz, as required by the Rabbanut, they continue to be open during Pesach selling chometz items. The exception to this is the duty-free shop located adjacent to gate D7, which not only sells their chometz for Pesach, but they also are very careful to only sell kosher for Passover products during Pesach. Additionally, the duty-shop at gate D7 employs Shomrei Torah U’mitzvos to ensure that these strict guidelines are adhered to.

Please be advised that OK Kosher Certification no longer certifies RAFAEL’S BAKERY (121-15 Jamaica Avenue, Richmond Hill, NY 11418) due to Kashrus Violations.

Hamakua Kona Coffee Glaze and Honey Macs, Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company – Hawaii are labeled with a plain OU, but contain dairy ingredients, as listed in the ingredient panel, and should be labeled OU-D.

Although cRc certified during the majority of the year, certain packages of products manufactured by the following companies may have the cRc logo removed or covered during a period after Passover. Please be careful to check those products as the cRc does not certify those specific items unless the cRc is on each package: Bulldog Bakery, Today’s Temptations, Eli’s Cheesecake.

Starr Culinary Delights Belgian Truffle Chocolate Cake frozen, 1.5 kg was labeled with an unauthorized COR 560 Dairy. This product is not kosher even when bearing COR 560 Dairy.

The Star-K would like to alert to consumer that Halutza brand canned olives bearing Rabbanut of Israel kosher certification stating “Heter Mechira” on the label, should NOT be purchased.

Readers in Mexico inform that Lee Kum Kee Sichuan Spicy Noodle Sauce Char Siu Sauce Salsa de Ciruela Sauces, which bear an unauthorized “OU” logo, were being sold in the Super Emet store in Mexico.  A recall for these products was made in 2010 but many are still for sale. Readers should understand that very often products which are mislabeled or bear an unauthorized kosher logo are shipped for sale to other countries or to “99 Cents Stores.”

Dole Value-Added Coleslaw with added dressing packets are not “Star-K”-certified. The “Star-K” symbol appearing next to the sell by date code was labeled in error. Corrective action is being taken.

Chedraui Chicken Broth in all its varieties bear an unauthorized “KMD” (Maguen David of Mexico). The product is not kosher. Corrective action being taken.

Marco Polo Fruit Flavored Candies, produced in Turkey and distributed and sold in the US by Adria Imports, Inc., bear an unauthorized symbol of the Turkish Chief Rabbinate and the word “Kosher”. These candies are NOT KOSHER and apparently contain anima-based ingredients.

The outer box of Yoyo Mania – Bubble Gum Nuggets (Kidsmania Inc. – Santa Fe Springs, CA) mistakenly displays the “OU” symbol. This product is not certified by the Orthodox Union and the company is withdrawing this product for re-labeling.

Better Batter Pancake & Biscuit Mix (20oz., UPC 896439002070, Best Before Jul 2012 – Mar 2013) Better Batter Pancake/Biscuit Mix, (2.5lbs., UPC 896439002032, Best Before December 2011, February – August 2012 & March 2013), Better Batter Yellow Cake Mix (18.25oz., UPC 896439002100, Best Before Jan – Mar 2013), and Better Batter Chocolate Cake Mix (18.25oz., UPC 896439002094, Best Before Jan– Mar 2013), products of Better Batter Gluten Free Flour – Altoona, PA, labeled “OU” with the “Best By” dates listed above, may inadvertently contain dairy ingredients. The affected products have been recalled.

Pretzels, Inc., Bluffton, IN recalled Better Made brand Corn Pops (8 ounces, UPC# 041633-003716, expiration code of MAR1411, distributed to retail stores in MI and OH). The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the milk-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of milk. The problem was caused by a temporary breakdown of the company’s production and packaging processes. (Better made Original Potato Sticks (UPC# 0-41633-01203-9), “OU”-certified, were recently recalled because they may have contained undeclared dairy.)

All Finish® dishwashing products are “OU”-certified except for the Power Balls. The “OU” symbol was inadvertently omitted from the label of Finish Rinse Agent (liquid).

Wissotksy Tea (Tel Aviv, Israel), “OU” and Badatz Mehadrin-certified (Rabbi Avrohom Rubin), when bearing those symbols, produces some teas which bear the Badatz Mehadrin symbol on the cellophane wrapping, and others of the same variety without the Badatz Mehadrin certification.  

Kashrus Updates from Israel: 

Badatz Beit Yosef announces that Ohr Pizza, located at 633 Herzl Street in Beit Shemesh, is no longer under its hashgacha.  

Café  Rimon meat restaurant, located on Luntz Street in downtown Jerusalem, is no longer under the supervision of Badatz Agudas Yisrael but continues to be under the supervision of the Jerusalem Rabbinate mehadrin. 

Shatnez Updates:

A blue and white woman’s J. Crew (China) sweater, bought at the J. Crew store near Monsey, New York was found to be shatnez. Composed of 2-ply yarns, the dark blue ply was 100% Wool and the white ply was 100% Linen. The label itself listed 55% Merino Wool, 45% 

A consumer bought a 100% silk Hugo Boss (Germany) men’s suit to the Chicago Shatnez laboratory. The collar backing contained a fabric combining wool and linen.
