Tragedy struck both Beit Shemesh and Yerushalayim on Thursday morning 7 Menachem Av as two chareidi children died in their homes, apparently in their sleep.
The first case occurred in an apartment on Neria HaNavi Street in Beit Shemesh when the parents of a 10-year-old boy entered his room and realized the child was not responding to efforts to wake him. Ichud Hatzalah arrived and CPR was implemented along with paramedics arriving and performing advanced life support measures. The child was ultimately pronounced dead on the scene when ALS did not succeed.
The second case occurred on Minchas Yitzchak Street when a 6-year-old boy was found lifeless in his bed. CPR and resuscitation was begun and the child was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center where doctors pronounced the child dead.
The family explains the Jerusalem child had a fever during the past 24 hours. Shaare Zedek will be checking to determine if he had some type of infection that may have led to his death.
