VIDEO/PHOTOS: Plane Traveling To Lizhensk Makes An Emergency Landing



Thousands will arrive in Lizhensk on Sunday, 21 Adar, for the yahrzeit of Rav Elimelech of Lizhensk ZY”A.

Many are arriving on flights directly from the United State or Israel to be able to be mispallel at the tziyun on the yahrzeit.

There were tense moments for the passengers on a charter flight which left London on Sunday morning for Lizhensk after a problem on the plane resulted in oxygen masks dropping and the flight was compelled to make an emergency landing in Amsterdam. Passengers report there were some very scary moments as reality hit with the oxygen masks falling from the ceiling compartments.

The passengers on the charter flight were trying to make arrangement to either get back to London while others were still hoping to get onto flights to reach Lezensk.

    The guy trying to get the tzibbur to sing along with the muffled voices was kind of funny. If you’re fighting for oxygen, I’m not so sure singing is a smart idea.

    The passengers were not listening to the announcements of the pilot – so they came up with an idea that there is no cabin pressure which everyone to sit down!
