Hundreds of people were on hand in a demonstration to prepare for the slaughter of Korban Pesach. The event was to be held last week in the Nof Tzion neighborhood oppose the Har Habayis but at the last moment it was moved to the Haas Promenade in the Armon HaNatziv by the mayor due to consideration surrounding the visit of US President Barak Obama. Those taking part used the event to teach observers just how the korban is prepared and then schechted.

A mizbeiach was constructed and kohanim put on bigdei kehuna. The trumpets were sounded and the levi’im were singing as they attempted to simulate the real situation. After the shechita there was kabolas damim, Hallel, zerikas damim, lighting the fire on the mizbeiach, and so on and so forth. After the korban was cooked the meat was sliced and distributed to participants.

We, somehow got used to, doing only what our Zeida did. But the Torah commands us to follow Toiras Moishe, Zichri Toiras Moishe Avdi. Moishe Rabbeinu clearly said that we should make a Korban Pesach.
