Commentary on the Shocking Video Footage of Violent Clashes Between Pro Israel & Anti Israel Protesters in France 07/14/14

UntitledEarlier YWN published shocking footage of a protest where Pro Israel and Anti Israel protesters violently engaged in clashes. It was unclear as of what was occuring.

In case you are confused as to what is going on, one of our readers, Raphael Amselli, gave this explanation:

This scene is happening in rue de la Roquette in Paris near the synagogue where people were held hostage for a few hours.

Coming from the right hand side are “La ligue de defense Juive” or LDJ which is a group unofficially taking care of security in events where jews may be targeted. I’d like to note here that they have a reputation for being fairly violent (which is why you may have heard that they provoked the pro-palestinians that were demonstrating nearby).

Coming from the left are pro-palestinians who I am assuming were part of the demo. It seems to me that the LDJ initially charged the arabs to get them away from the synagogue while the CRS (police riot force) arrived. Then the Police arrived and tried to separate both groups, but they are clearly in too small numbers.

The arabs then charge the police and in the process it looks like one of the LDJ guys got hurt pretty badly.

I, for one, am pretty proud that they stood up to them and, while this was unlawful, took matters into their own hands. Who knows how it would have ended if it hadn’t been for the LDJ

  1. France is turning into a mini gaza. It was obvious still when Chirac was premier. He was a Jew hater and pro Arab. I honestly don’t know how they’ll undo the mentality of their youths. If they have such little control over unprovoked attacks against hidden. Then they’re in trouble.

  2. Every Jew a .22!
    Every Jew a .22!
    Every Jew a .22!

I can say that this Jew right here has a .22. He’s taken his advice from the great Meir Kahane.

  3. It seems to me that people are always looking for a group to assign blame. In a report on this event that I read on Aish.com, it was reported by the rabbi in charge of this large and important synagogue that when he heard that the anti-Israel march was to terminate at his shul, he was concerned. He requested from the police to divert the route of the march far from the synagogue. The French police responded that they had things under control.
Yet, this article states and it appears they were understaffed. Indeed, when the crowd was diverted by police close to the shul, some were able to swing back around and approach the synagogue. Clearly the police were only setup as a token response to the Jew’s fear of violence breaking out. It is no surprise that Jews set up their own protection when the “authorities” neglected their duty to properly protect all citizens.
I hope that all Jews in Europe will see that the time has come to leave and they’ll choose Israel, their homeland.

  4. Perhaps France learned a lesson from this event,it is reported today that the French police are banning a Pro-Palestinian Protest.
It, indeed, was embarrassing for them that things got so out of control.

  5. To #3: kahanechai

kahanechai, why do want Jews to arm themselves with such small caliber .22? Jews should have at lest .45, preferably tipped with pork fat.

  6. We are in golus and we have to accept that,
We feel more secure in europe than in israel, ask any terrorised israeli today where would he want to be.
What the ldj is doing is giving more reasons to attack jews anywhere.
Like the biryoinim in r yochonon ben zakay times, they need pride, they want to show them, even if it cost later jewish blood to be spilled R’L
In this situations we should stay behind closed doors and wait till it goes by. As our ancestors did for centuries. והיא שעמדה לאבותינו
