tat

Dan Bus Company driver Herzl Biton, 40, has regained consciousness and recalls the painful events of last week when an Islamic terrorist armed with a knife boarded his bus. He explains how he swerved the bus in the hope of the lone terrorist losing his balance and how he was stabbed trying to fight off the terrorist.

Biton, a veteran driver, explained “I had no choice. I had to save people”, explaining his actions and his awareness of the situation which left five people seriously wounded and many others with less serious injuries. Biton chased the terrorist, determined to stop him from slashing and stabbing passengers. A son, Yaakov, reports the stream of visitors has not stopped since his father came out of surgery. Yaakov adds his dad has a long way to go and at present, his speech has not returned to what it was prior to the attack.

One victim, a woman, remains in an intensive care unit from the attack. She is listed in moderate/stable condition. A second victim is in a cardiac unit in moderate/stable condition at Ichilov Hospital as well.
