This Shabbos (11th of Cheshvan/ October 24th) marks the 4th yahrzeit of HaGaon HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt”l. The Mirrer Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l was a visionary and despite significant challenges, built the largest Yeshiva in modern times, in addition to teaching and cultivating loving relationships with thousands of talmidim and balei batim alike.

1 An inspiring new film has been released in his memory.  Torah Legacy Productions presents: Triumph of the Spirit – Reflections on the Life and Legacy of the Mirrer Rosh HaYeshiva – HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt”l.

Mrs. Brochie Sloan met briefly with the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l during his visit to Baltimore in 2011 and was deeply inspired. Shortly after the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l’s petira, Mrs. Sloan wrote the Artscroll youth biography: “The Story of Rav Nosson Tzvi” which is now in its second printing.

While researching media files for the biography, the author came across some inspirational footage of the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l and had an idea: “Why not make the Rosh HaYeshiva’s story come alive in a way that leaves a lasting impression? Anyone who sees how an American boy from became the leader of the largest yeshiva in the world, beloved by thousands, all in the face of a severe illness, is left to ask – Why not me?” Mrs. Sloan had her interviews filmed and gathered thousands of relevant pictures along with footage of the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l and worked with Kol Rom Multimedia to produce the film. The result: a professionally made film that captivates and powerfully moves audiences from all backgrounds.

2After two years of research, production, and review, Triumph of the Spirit gives audiences a unique glimpse into the life of the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l as shared by over 40 interviewees and moving footage and pictures of HaRav Nosson Tzvi zt”l. The DVD comes with an additional two hours of Bonus content including post-film commentary by Rabbi Paysach Krohn, an extra hour of bonus stories, HaRav Finkel zt”l speaking about the sweetness of Torah, videos of singing, dancing, and more!

The film is being distributed by Artscroll and is available at Artscroll.com, Amazon, and at Judaica stores nationwide. To learn more or to schedule a public showing in your community, visit TorahLegacy.com. May this project be an aliyah for the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l and an inspiration for us all!
