MDA Announces Blood Shortage – Calls On Israelis To Donate Blood


mdaMagen David Adom blood bank service officials announce a critical shortage of types A-, B-, O-, and O+ and they call on the public to step forward and donate blood.

Due to the shortage MDA’s blood bank is having difficulty supplying hospitals which will lead to delaying non-essential surgeries if blood is not donated.

Anyone donating a unit of blood is automatically insured for his/herself and immediate family for a year.

Volunteers are manning shopping centers around the country, distributing information about where and when people can donate blood. One may also visit the website or call MDA at 03-5300-400.

Organizations interested in hosting a blood donation drive may phone *5643. This is for a minimum of 30 people willing to donate blood.
