Major-General Tupolinsky Submits His Resignation Over Theft Of Classified Computer

htFollowing the theft of his vehicle and classified laptop from his home, IDF Chief of Personnel Branch Major-General Chaggai Tupolinsky has submitted his resignation to IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott, explaining a senior officer must take responsibility for actions as he demands from his subordinates.

It was reported earlier this week that the senior officer’s highly classified laptop was stolen. Due to the nature of the content on the laptop, he is responsible to store it to avoid such an occurrence. As reported, it was Tupolinsky who removed a colonel from his post when his laptop was stolen because he left it in his car. Now, he explains he must demand of himself no less than his subordinates and he has submitted his resignation. It is reported “highly classified” materials were also in the vehicle.

Some point out it was Tupolinsky who changed the beard regulations in the military, making it so difficult for religious soldiers with a beard. While he announced earlier this week that he is restoring the old regulations pertaining to a religious soldier sporting a beard, they are not crying over his having to resign over the theft.
