Palestinians Censure PA Police For Assisting IDF Soldiers Escape From Near-Lynching In Jenin

Labeling the attackers of IDF soldiers “heroes”, Palestinians were heard censuring PA (Palestinian Authority) leaders on Tuesday, 28 Shevat, as they ordered PA security forces to assist in extricating the IDF vehicle from Jenin. The vehicle entered after the driver followed Waze, and when residents realized it was an IDF vehicle, they came under attack. A female soldier was transported to a hospital for her facial injuries that occurred in the attack.

The PA opposition was quick to use the incident to lash out at Ramallah for continuing security cooperation with Israel, praising the attack against the occupants of the vehicle, which included stealing one of the soldiers’ automatic weapon. The photos and videos contained in the report speak volumes, and while the PA speaks of dual-existence and peace, once again actions speak louder than words and Israeli vehicles are viewed as enemies, unwanted in PA areas.

The opponents decried video and photos which also show PA security trying to protect the soldiers, at one point, preferring to side with the attackers who acted without provocation, motivated by hate that is inculcated in school children in the PA.

A PA security official defended their actions, explaining by rescuing the IDF personnel from the mob, they avoided an Israeli military operation in Jenin, which would have followed to get them out.
