Ramat Gan, Israel — In the pediatric cancer ward at Sheba-Tel Hashomer Hospital, a record-breaking number of young children are desperately fighting for their lives. Israel Children’s Cancer Centers known in Israel as Rachashei Lev, a non-profit organization supporting cancer-stricken children and their families, is therefore launching an emergency Day of Giving on September 28, 2017. The 24-hour fundraising campaign will enable Rachashei Lev to continue their life-saving work – bringing joy and laughter into the lives of children with cancer and hope for the future.
Rachashei Lev’s first ever Day of Giving aims to raise $500,000 in a 24-hour time period. Generous benefactors have committed to quadruple every dollar donated, so that a $500 donation effectively raises $2,000 for children struggling with cancer. Every donation makes a huge difference. And it all begins at 12:00 a.m Thursday morning, September 28 at https://donate.israelcancercenters.org
Unlike other online fundraising platforms, Rachashei Lev’s Day of Giving is not an “all or nothing” campaign. Of course with quadruple pledges we desperately want to reach our goal, but even if we don’t, our supporters are nevertheless guaranteed that every dollar donated will go directly to help children who are fighting a life-and-death battle with cancer every moment of their young lives.-->
Since 1989, Rachashei Lev has imbued thousands of Israeli children with the courage, spirit, and the hope they need to recover from their life-threatening illness. “Rachashei Lev is the most important organization from outside the hospital, and the most important charitable not-for- profit in the life of our department,” explained Prof. Amos Toren, Director of the Department of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Tel Hashomer Hospital. “The establishment of the Rachashei Lev Children’s House significantly impacted our ability to take care of a much larger number of families, which would not have been possible without it.”
Professor Toren is referring to the crown jewel of Rachashei Lev’s many accomplishments – the Beit HaYeled Children’s House, a delightful 5-acre mini-hotel located on the campus of Sheba-Tel Hashomer Hospital. It’s a place where children can forget their agony as they indulge in luxurious accommodations and partake in fun activities that boost their flagging spirits. It’s a place where their hearts are infused with strength and hope for the future.-->
