U.S. Convenes Talks on Postwar Gaza Force in Qatar

The US is holding talks today in Qatar with representatives from around 45 Arab, Muslim, and Western countries to begin planning an international stabilization force in Gaza. Israel was not invited, though it is closely monitoring the discussions.

The talks are focused on the force’s mandate and structure, including rules of engagement, whether troops would be armed, and where they would train and operate. While some countries have expressed readiness to provide economic, training, or logistical support, few have indicated a willingness to deploy troops.
