In an overnight raid earlier this week in southern Syria, the IDF says it captured a suspected Islamic State jihadist in the village of al-Rafid, located within the UN-patrolled buffer zone.

The operation was carried out by the 52nd Armored Battalion and Military Intelligence’s Unit 504 under the 474th “Golan” Regional Brigade. The suspect was taken to Israel for further interrogation, and several weapons were seized during the raid, according to the military.
