Israel’s security establishment is on high alert amid preparations for a possible Iranian response following the IDF’s strike in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut earlier on Sunday, Channel 12 reported.

According to the report, Israel is preparing for all scenarios, including a possible Iranian missile attack similar to the one that followed Israel’s strike in Dahiyeh last week.

An Iranian military official warned today that “the Israeli attack will not go unanswered.”

Iranian Deputy Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters was quoted by Al Jazeera as threatening retaliation against Israel over the strike, saying the attack “will not remain without a response.”

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, one of the country’s most senior figures, also threatened to halt negotiations with the United States in response to the strike. In a post on X, Ghalibaf wrote: “The Zionists’ latest violation has once again proven that the United States either lacks the will to implement its commitments or lacks the ability to do so. By giving the regime a green light, you cannot achieve any benefits. The good-cop, bad-cop game is outdated. If you do not have the will and ability to implement your commitments, it is impossible to talk about continuing down this path.”

Previous reports on Sunday said that Israeli security officials believe that Hezbollah may attempt to test the limits of the pending US-Iran deal and potentially expand the conflict by drawing the IDF into broader military operations that would jeopardize the deal.

According to intelligence assessments, the coming days are considered especially sensitive.

Axios reported that the IDF informed the U.S. Central Command about its attack on Beirut shortly before it took place.
