TRAGEDY: Eight-Day-Old Baby Dies At Hadassah Hospital Hours After Bris Mila, Police Investigating

An eight-day-old baby tragically passed away on Shabbos, hours after undergoing a bris milah in a community in the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council.

The circumstances surrounding the tragedy remain unclear, and Israel Police have opened an investigation into the incident.

According to initial reports, the infant lost his pulse shortly after the bris. Magen David Adom paramedics rushed to the scene and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts while transporting the baby in critical condition to Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Center.

Upon arrival at the hospital, pediatric emergency physicians continued intensive resuscitation attempts, but despite their efforts, were forced to pronounce the infant dead.

As is standard procedure in such cases, the incident was reported to police, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the baby’s death. The infant’s body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination.

  1. Was the Mohel an experienced Mohel???????????
If a Mohel charges a small sum of money, that could be a sign that he is not experienced and you need to do real investigating.
    Was the baby yellow????????????????
Was the Mohel a person above 60 years old, if yes, does his hands shake a little?????????????????

  2. What a terribly sad story.
    Rare, but happens.
Growing Up, we learned about cases like hemophilia.
If a family loses more than one baby from a bris, any additional babies are exempt.

  3. There has been a case, when a mohel spotted a problem. Question was asked, why was the problem not reported by the doctor, nurse or midwife? Answer; they wanted to put the blame on the Bris!
