Israel: Alert Truck Driver Avoids Terror Attack


An alert Israeli truck driver avoided a terrorist attack, possible saving himself from injury or worse. He told authorities that he was summoned to the Tarkumiya Checkpoint in the Southern Chevron Hills area for business, but he explained something sounded suspicious, prompting his decision to make the notification. He feared that Arabs were setting him off to carjack his truck.

He did arrived at the agreed time, escorted by Yassam anti-terror police who were close by, out of sight. A 19-year-old Arab male was taken into custody, a resident of the Arab village of Idna, suspected of being part of a ring that deals in stealing trucks and other vehicles. The car theft ring operates out of Yata in the Southern Chevron Hills area.
Authorities indicate additional arrests may be expected in the ongoing investigation.
